I am going as a mattress, a pillow arranged on my head, pillows stuffed inside a mattress ticking, and my feet coming through at the bottom with bedsocks on. The time has altered; we are 1j hours in advance of England. It is light at 4.30 in the morning, but dark soon after 6 o clock. We had a swallow following our boat most of yesterday. The fancy dress was a great success; it was really splendid, as none of us had many things w th us, as we are all in uniform. Mr. Claude Askew was very amusing, introducing us as Mrs. Jarley s waxworks. Thursday, April 15, 1915. It was a rough and very cold night again.
