This hypothesis was meanwhile refuted by Hort in The Academy (1887, IL 424), and was afterwards abandoned by Cornill himself (NGGW, 1888, pp. 194-196), since he was convinced of the fact that in B the Hebraising of proper names, which is characteristic of the Hexapla Recension ( 43), is wanting. It should also be remembered that in Jeremiah, B has not the genuinely Jewish, but the Alexandrine arrangement of the portions of the text.
