This retrospective of Patricia Garrido's work is presented by the EDP Foundation in the city of Porto at it's gallery at Soares dos Reis National Museum, in collaboration with the Museums and Conservation Institute at Fernado Santos Gallery and also in Lisbon at Politecnica Theatre Artistas Unidos. The presentation of a mid career status report on certain artists is one of the roles defined by the EDP Foundation artistic programming. That is precisely what has been achieved with this exhibition taken as a whole, Garrido's oeuvre holds an important position in the sphere of recent Portuguese art, however her intense but discreet productivity and modest exhibitive history have kept her out of the media circuit, making it hard for her work to achieve recognition and appraisal. In this catalogue essays by Ulrich Loock and Maria Helena de Freitas widen and adjust the field of interpretation while every possible reading of the artist's work can be confronted with her own point of view as displayed in the interview by Filipa Oliveira. The exhibition catalogue is limited to 500 copies and is in dual text Portuguese and English.
