The book seeks to examine such problems in the broad framework of Comparative Literature, in terms of the construction, deconstruction and reconstruction of a flexible and feasible approach to axiology, by a comparative and contrastive close reading of a few Renaissance masterpieces and some of their paradigmatic modern caricatures.
