He is the first Professor of Business Administration in North East Region of Nigeria and the first graduate of the Department of Business Management of the University of Maiduguri to become a Professor. He received his Ph.D in management studies from Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto. He earned a masters degree in Business Administration at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and a Bachelor´s degree in Business Management at the University of Maiduguri. He was the Head, Department of Business Management, University of Maiduguri from 1999 to 2004, Acting Head, Department of Business Administration, Adamawa State University, Mubi. Member, Governing Council of the Adamawa State University from 2004-2005, founder and first Editor of the Adamawa State University Business Journal. He is a member of editorial board of many journals and a member, Board of Trustees of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria. At the International level, he is a member of Research Board of Advisors of the American Bibliographic Institute, USA.
