Abb., 75 Pläne und 6 Faltkarten als Beilage. 4° Ln. *neuwertig* In 409 BC, the Greek colonial town Selinous in Sicily was conquered by the Carthaginians and fell under Punic governance. Having primarily functioned as a military base during the decades following the conquest, Selinunt began to flourish once again towards the end of the fourth century. The reconstruction, as characteristic changes in town planning, housing and building technologies illustrate, was oriented towards Punic tradition in contrast to the original Greek town. In this study, the residential development in Punic Selinunt in the fourth and third centuries BC is presented comprehensively for the first time and re-evaluated with regard to acculturation; this includes an analysis of individual features with regard to their orientation towards either Greek or Punic tradition. This relation presents the Hellenization of Punic culture in a fresh light.

English summary: In the year 409 BCE the Greek colonial city Selinunte on Sicily was seized by the Carthaginians and entered a period of punishing rule. In the following years the place served mainly as a military base and Punic Selinunte blossomed at the end of the 4th century BCE. The reconstruction in the Punic tradition contrasted with the previous Greek city indicated by characteristic changes in urban development, residential housing and in building technology. The work presents firstly in the residential buildings of Punic Salinunte from the 4th and 3rd century BCE extensively and newly arranges them under the aspect of acculturation. On this basis, the elements are attributable to the Greek cultural diffusions and those which stand in the Punic tradition are analyzed. The characteristic relationship between the two styles sheds new light on the Hellenization of Punic culture.
