159 S. Originalbroschur. Gebraucht, aber gut erhalten. - Aus dem Vorwort: I began working on this project in January 2004, as I was returning from a trip to Hong-Kong with the critical open mind of the traveller. The French government was debating a controversial law banning religious and political signs from schools, referred to as "signes ostensibles". Crosses and scarves had to disappear from schools' courtyards, at a time where the vast majority of young boys and girls were the living expression of marketing signs. It just seemed a little paradoxical and confusing. The complexity of the confrontation of a past ideology and a contemporary world of globalization and commercialization puzzled me. At that time, with journalist Fadwa Miadi, I started collecting pictures of signs, labels, codes and icons bearing a social and aesthetic significance in the world of teenagers. From a sociological referencing and sampling of disparate elements in Paris schools, I went further, extending the project to London, Berlin, Barcelona and Milan until it grew into a documented collection of the dress codes in European schools. In London where the uniform is a school institution, and also in Barcelona's private schools, I captured the way these young pupils customised their outfits and when my steps brought me to the incredible, anachronistic uniforms of the prestigious English schools, I realised that they had to be part of the book. ISBN 9783865212269 Versand D: 3,00 EUR Balet, Catherine , Photographie , Schüler , Kleidung , Bildband, Fotografie, Computerkunst.
