Das Ziel dieser Studie ist es einen Überblick über die Technologie zu geben und dabei speziell auf das Innovationspotential von aktiven RFID-Tags einzugehen. Deshalb wurde in dieser Bachelor-Arbeit die prinzipielle Funktionsweise der Technologie beschrieben, aber auch die verschiedenen Arten von Transpondern dargestellt, wie z.B. aktive oder passive Tags. Auch das Innovationspotential wurde anhand kreativer Methoden analysiert. Dabei wurde herausgefunden, dass ein beträchtliches Potential für spezielle Anwendungen vorliegt. Es wird jedoch empfohlen für die jeweiligen Anwendungsbereiche genauere Studien und Analysen anzustellen bevor voreilige Entscheidungen getroffen werden. Diese Arbeit kann als Grundlage für weitere Forschungen herangezogen werden.
