Schnell, so die Autoren, ist aber nicht gleichzusetzen mit hektisch oder vorschnell handeln. Gemeint ist vielmehr: effizienter arbeiten, schneller planen und mehr erreichen wollen. Dafür haben die Autoren in vier Abschnitten eine Fülle von Tipps, Tricks und Kniffen zusammengetragen. Alles übrigens tatsächlich erlebt, teilweise unkonventionell ("Wenn Sie keine homosexuellen Freunde haben, suchen Sie sich welche") und hinreichend überprüft im Berateralltag. Im ersten Teil geht es um den entscheidenden "Blick zurück nach vorne". Wie man Trends als Erster erkennt, wann man gegen die Strömung schwimmen sollte oder wie man im Team zu den besten Ideen kommt -- das sind nur einige der hilfreichen Fragestellungen, welche die Autoren mit einer Fülle von Praxisbeispielen unterfüttern. Im zweiten Teil wird der Blickpunkt auf schnelle Entscheidungen gerichtet. Unerwartet auch hier so mancher Ratschlag wie: "Arbeiten Sie nach dem Rotationsprinzip. Es hält die Angestellten auf Trab." Im dritten Teil des Buches wird es dann martialisch. Als Kreuzritter kämpft man auf schnellen Märkten, macht Verkäufern und Zulieferern Beine, hält sich beizeiten unauffällig im Hintergrund, um neue Gefechtspläne auszuhecken. Mit Vollgas geht es dann in die Schlusskapitel. Hier wollen die Autoren aber nur noch das Tempo halten. Ein schwieriges Unterfangen, weil alle Anpassungen und Improvisationen ein hohes Maß an Flexibilität erfordern. Kurzum: Ein patentes Büchlein für schnelle Unternehmen. Geschrieben in der Alles-oder-Nichts-Rhetorik amerikanischer Ratgeber-Autoren. Leider aber passen nicht alle Tipps im Gesamtkontext zusammen. Manches wirkt übertrieben und vieles müsste auf hiesige Verhältnisse erst übertragen werden.
