nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware -INTRODUCTION AND PROBLEM 'HATE CRIME BUT NOT THE CRIMINALS' - Considering this view the topic of this research has been selected by the researcher entitled. 'A PSYCHO SOCIAL STUDY OF SELECTED PERSONALITY FACTORS AMONG CONVICTED CRIMINALS OF JHARKHAND' As it is known to everybody that crime is the very urgent and burning problem of the present day and the government is very much planning for effective check to control this unwanted act of the society. Most of the people believe in live and let live, policy yet there are a few who for some reasons deviate from the normal behaviour patterns and associate themselves with antisocial elements. The conduct which are prohibited by the existing law at a given time and place are known as wrongful acts or crime. Whereas those which are permissible under the law are treated as lawful. In fact, Crime is a constant phenomenon changing with the social change. During 12th and 13th Century included only those acts as crime which were committed against the state or the religion. What is the definition of crime is really the difficult question. Almost all societies have certain norms, belief, customs and traditions which are accepted by its members. Infringement of these customed norms is condemned as anti social behaviour. Thus many writers have defined 'Crime' as an antisocial behaviour. According to the legal definition-Crime is any form of conduct which is declared to be socially harmful in a state and such as forbidden by law under pain of some punishment. Wilson (1967) showed that both personality and demographic factors correlated with subjective well being. He stated that the happy person is a young, healthy, well educated, well paid, extroverted, optimistic, worry-free, religious, married person with high self esteem, job morale, modest aspirations of either sex and of a wide range of intelligence. We all live in a society and we cannot imagine our lives without a society. While living in a society, an individual establishes relationships with a number of people, and creates groups for convenience in interaction. During interaction, many people create separate groups. Due to some reasons, some people create separate groups and get indulge in anti-social activities. This not only harms the society, but also harms them individually. Those who defy, 182 pp. Englisch, Books.
