While writing with poetic license and exaggerating the truth, my non de plum is Sydney S. Song. In 1991, after a miracle filled experience that ended with my mom losing her battle with breast cancer, I explained what truly transpired in Lake Mary, Florida verses the rumors flying through the region; it's chronicled in my first published book entitled Mom's on the Roof and I Can't Get Her Down. Many plagues have hit my life but none have kept me down. In other words, do not feel sorry for me because I may just be the eternal optimist or "Cindy Lou Who." Please, note that two, inspirational tales- that I helped author- are out of print but are summarized in some of my other narratives.I have met someone with a mother that suffered Hysterical Blindness after witnessing the aftermath of her grandson's drowning in her pool. As far as I know, the woman never recovered her sight.One of my ex-neighbors lost a child as the result of a boating accident; the teen hit a dock and died.In addition, I taught the teen girl with the locket that lost friends and family when her car's acceleration and braking system failed; her parent hit a tree on a very curvy, local road. I heard the story first hand from that girl but I modified the plotline to keep her identity anonymous. The reason for the crash is the truth.Over the years, I have met individuals that were in comas that returned from the twilight zone; they explained their experiences while seemingly dead to this world. I have met relatives of patients that left this world never coming back from that limbo state of mind. However, sometimes, during what appeared to be lucid periods or semi-comatose stages, there seemed to be a ray of hope that wasn't necessarily diminished by the loved one's passing. The witnessed swore the "down for the count" human Being was reentering this plain of existence or reality because the comatose person spoke to someone either directly or through some sort of mental telepathy. Even if the loved one expired, while comparing notes, while sharing their living testimonies, those gathered at the deathbed were invigorated with faith and love. Most people think the miracle is always the physical restoration; however, the spiritual healing of anyone or everyone is the true and eternal healing, which is the largest of all miracles.In addition, some anecdotes reveal parts of my life including the tree lot days.However, not one character in this novelette is an actual or a particular person. Each of us simply projects the possibilities of life. Events may be exaggerated as well as I used Poetic License. In other words, some facts are in my fiction.Meanwhile, my initial goal for this book was to take my notes from working at a Christmas tree lot and write a short story. That brief tale expanded beyond my initial objective.This fiction is my eighth one, which is the Biblical number for new beginnings. As you read this Christmas tale, I hope you think.
