The puzzler will be presented progressively more difficult puzzles to solve in order to master Sudoku. The format is provided to teach the student/puzzler the art and skill of solving these puzzles by providing 500 plus Sudoku (standard 9x9 grid) puzzles of increasing solution complexity. The first 100 puzzles, 1-100, are 'practice' to prepare for the training puzzles that require more advanced solving techniques, puzzles 101-500. These practice puzzles are rated very hard (4.0-4.9) and require 'expert' use of approximately 10 beginner techniques, also, there is no answer key as the puzzler IS respected to be the answer key. Sudokusnake.com website, author not affiliated, was used to 'rate' the difficulty of the puzzles. Basically, the training puzzles are solved by using about 35 progressively more complicated solving techniques. Several sources are readily available on the internet to describe the main body of solutions techniques. It is assumed that the student/puzzler will research sources beyond the scope of this puzzle book to fundamentally learn & understand the solving techniques required to solve the puzzles in this book and progressively master Sudoku by practice, practice, practice. Puzzles 101-500 are provided with an analysis to rate the difficulty of the puzzle AND to provide information a list of advanced techniques that may be required to solve the puzzle. Categories for the puzzles are given as Expert (rating of 5.0 to 5.9), Fiendish (6.0 to 6.9), Diabolical (7.0 to 7.9), Serpentine (TWO levels, 8.0 to 8.9 and 9.0 to 9.9), and Ludicrous (10.0 plus). Each puzzle has a unique number, 101-500 plus bonus 501-515 WITH an answer key, UPSIDE down, staggered by 4 puzzles in EACH section (Sections are defined in the Table of Contents). So, puzzle 101 answer key is shown next to puzzle 105 (4 end of section puzzles are shown at the beginning of the respective section).Worldwide, ~95% of ALL Sudoku puzzles published are rated as Easy, Medium, Hard or Very Hard. Puzzles, 101 to 400, are rated as Expert through Diabolical and comprise about 5% of the puzzles published in magazines, newspapers, internet forums, books, etc. The 100 Serpentine and Ludicrous puzzles comprise less than 0.01% of the published puzzles. There are 100 puzzles, equally divided into SYMMETRIC and RANDOM, in each level of Expert, Fiendish and Diabolical. The Serpentine puzzles are broken into two levels with 20 puzzles each in the SYMMETRIC and RANDOM category. The Ludicrous puzzles are provided to illustrate the most advanced of all categories of puzzle. As a bonus, 15 puzzles are provided with Sudoku ratings beyond Ludicrous, including some of the most famous 'hardest puzzles in the world' category.
