WARNING: This is not the actual book Doctor Sleep by Stephen King. Do not buy this Review if you are looking for a full copy of this great book. Check out this comprehensive review of Doctor Sleep for a complete look at the plot, the characters, and of course, King's writing style. Doctor Sleep explores themes of innocence and redemption as Dan struggles to come to terms with the horrors of his past. This review includes critical opinions of the novel and breaks down the ways in which Stephen King excels, as well as where he falls short. Doctor Sleep offers compelling, sympathetic characters and a satisfactory conclusion to the story begun in The Shining, though some may feel that the sequel does not live up to the original work. Fans of Stephen King's previous works, including The Shining, Salem's Lot, and the Dark Tower series will enjoy the Easter eggs hidden in the pages of Doctor Sleep. Stephen King's sequel to The Shining follows Jack Torrance's son, Dan, who is haunted by his past in more ways than one. A recovering alcoholic, he struggles both with his gift, "the shining," and the events at the Outlook Hotel. He finds himself drawn to a charismatic and precocious girl, Abra, who has the gift as well. Dan must help Abra survive a secret society, the True Knot, which preys upon gifted children like her.

WARNING: This is not the actual book The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. Do not buy this Review if you are looking for a full copy of this great book. Are you wondering if The Book Thief will be a good read for you? Check out this review of Markus Zusak's bestseller to get an expert's opinion on the story, characters, and themes. With the comprehension of a typical 9-year-old, Liesel Merminger struggles to survive with a foster family in Nazi Germany. Books and the words within become Liesel s strongest tool as she learns to read and fight for her life. Young adults learning about the Holocaust can gain an insider s perspective from this fictional portrayal. Readers are taken on an emotional journey narrated by Death. What makes this book stand out against other WWII fiction novels? Markus Zusak focuses on the children who barely understand the changes taking place in the world. A poetic tone enhances the flow of the story, and the characters will haunt your thoughts long after you finish reading. In addition to the positive and negative aspects, this review covers the author s backstory to give you insight into his knowledge of the era. With a list of awards the book has received and quotes from expert reviewers, you will gain a better idea of how Markus Zusak's The Book Thief will resonate with you.

WARNING: This is not the actual book Night Broken by Patricia Briggs. Do not buy this Review if you are looking for a full copy of this great book. This expert review is your go-to source for understanding and appreciating the true genius of Patricia Briggs. Monsters, werewolves, vampires: Mercy has faced (and defeated) them all. In Night Broken, she faces an enemy the likes of which she has never seen: Christy, Adam's ex-wife. Following on the heels of Frost Burned, Night Broken enters as the eighth entry in the popular Mercy Thompson series. Patricia Briggs' fans know to expect the regular batch of characters along with an urban fantasy adventure that is sure to eclipse the last. This review, remaining true to its name, also devotes a portion of the expanded text to informing you of reader and critic opinions of this entry in the series. Adam and Mercy are married: he the local pack's leader and she a coyote skinwalker. Christy comes along in need of help, and Mercy knows that Adam would never turn his back on someone in need, especially someone who bore his child. The stalker on Christy's heels has already murdered someone in her inner circle, and the werewolf pack may be her only hope for protection. The stalker is no mere mortal though; he is mad, powerful, and perhaps not from this world. Now, the entire pack is in danger. Every scene is pulsating, but we take time to detail the novel's most memorable moment, while also detailing an alternative outcome that might have given readers a bit more closure, or at least a few more thrills.

WARNING: This is not the actual book Shadow Spell by Nora Roberts. Do not buy this Review if you are looking for a full copy of this great book. Read this review to gain a better perspective of the novel's high and low points, while also considering the presentation of an alternative outcome. Shadow Spell, the second installment of The Cousins O'Dwyer Trilogy, continues the paranormal tale left behind by Dark Witch. This review of the middle piece walks you through the novel's high and low points, while breaking down what is occurring behind the scenes. Cabhan has much stacked against him yet again, with warriors, descendants of Sorcha, and many others with great power hot on his heels. The summer solstice battle has come and gone, without a true winner, so the group decides to destroy him by attacking the source of his power. Cabhan prepares as he always does, by focusing on the weaknesses of each member, which this expert review also details. The plot in Shadow Spell weakens a bit, however, as Cabhan, true to his history, underestimates the bonds between those he wishes to destroy. The novel's true strength is in its portrayal of the budding romance between Connor and Meara. The steam emanating from them almost makes the actual good vs. evil theme seem like an afterthought, and the novel is better for it. Picturesque rural Ireland and the dense characters are the true stars in Shadow Spell, not the urban fantasy aspect.
