The first kind is that most frequently found in this country, and is our common oak: it is called Quer. pedunculata; the other kind is called sessiliflora. This is frequently met with growing in near proximity to the former. They have been considered as distinct species; but as they are met with in all intermediate forms, however distinct they may appear at first view, they are probably only varieties; we...
