Carpet Wools. The market is in a quiet and waiting condition, pending the auction sale of carpets advertised for May 4. The feeling is, that while low prices may rule at these auctions, the situation will be cleared by that event, and that afterwards a steadier market may be looked for. Abroad, the markets are holding firm, but there is not much doing. Little is heard regarding the new clips. In Russia there is a strong home demand which seems to he increasing all the time. In this market sales have comprised only small and scattering lots not worthy of notice.
