1919. Very good condition. Two male refugees wait at a train station or road side, their worldly possessions piled around a sign post. Forain (1852 - 1931) was a French Impressionist painter and print maker, one of the most noted on the first few decades of the 1900s. He was the most famous caricaturist of the Belle Epoque, and was influenced by the work of Daumier and Degas, a life long friend and colleague. Image size varies on paper 17 1/2 x 11 3/4". Paper lightly toned.
