Ther Ontario School for the Blind was opened in Brantford, Ontario in 1872. In the interests of political correctness, it is now called The W. Ross Macdonald School. This is a collection of memoirs of students of that school : dates incl. 1911 to 1975 approx. The students who came there from all across Canada, RECALL teachers, family support, learning to cane chairs, physical education classes and rollerskating, among others. 221 pages with a section of B/W photos at center. Cond : Boards are RED with black lettering, dust jacket is also red with b/w photos front and back. Book is CLEAN, tight and bright. No names, no flaws. VERY giftable. D.J. has three 1/4" tears at spine top and tail. Spine fine, binding tight. PHOTO end-papers. D.J. is not price-clipped. Quote (p. 67) : " My younger brother Bob had a bicycle and I would ride with him. He would be the steersman, and my elder brother would ride beside me with his hand on my shoulder or my hand on his shoulder. Often our handlebars locked, but it was a thrill . .".
