Listening to the Thunder salvages and documents what was constructive from early feminist responses to violence, and examines, problematizes and deconstructs what is no longer useful or in fact, harmful. It is an honest offering, perhaps, some might argue, giving more ammunition to detractors and opponents who might read it looking for further excuses to dismiss male violence or the need to continue to fund shelters.
