Roberts Gallery, 1975. Limited edition of 325 numbered and signed copies of which this is no. 159. Hardcover. As new. 191 p. 33 cm. 70 colour and 51 b&w illustrations. Blue leather spine and pale blue paper boards. Spine sunned. Discolouration to outside of print. Matching slipcase has some soiling and discolouration. Inside like new. A. J. Casson seems to have found in his small town Ontario theme much that was sympathetic to his own character. The order, simplicity and craftsmanship found in the details of early domestic Ontario architecture were paralleled in his own personality. As Paul Duval observed in 1980: “Casson has never cut baroque swathes across the Canadian art scene, but quietly cultivated his own special and enduring place in it.ö This collection Includes a signed lithograph entitled "Sunlit Isle," from a limited edition of 325 created especially for this book.
