Modeling the Rare Cutriss Fighters goes through the same development that the real fighter line did just before WW@ and during in order to keep the fighter current and competitive. We start our modelling adventure building the Curtiss P 36 a radial engined fighter capable of doing 300 + Mph. After winning the 1936 fly off, 210 fighters were built and more were produced for export to Francew and England to bolter their fighter arm in 1940. Not standing still, Curtiss got the brilliant idea of replacing the radial engine with an in-line allison and Voila, the P 40 was born! Over 13,700 were built. Not standing still there, experiments were tried with turbosupercharging leading to the p 37, streamlining a radial engine, the p 42, A light weight version p 46 and as a last ditch improvement to the p 40, the P 60 fighter. Some of these planes were ahead of their time, others too little, too late. Now you can build all these models some of which have not been do before. This book contains historical background on the planes, design, construction, flying and trimming and full sized plans on 11 x 17 sheets on CAD.
