He demands, ‘When do the rights of those who lose their faculties end and the perverse gratification of the relatives take over?’ This tale of tragic romance is set in Eastbourne, the seaside town that adorns the Sussex coastline of southern England. The well-described setting underlined the reality of the situation and increases the realisation that these calamities could affect any family. The novel explores love, care, and happiness along with naivety, rivalry, and betrayal. George John, in his first novel, portrays an intriguing story in a simple yet endearing narrative style.
