A True Story of an Adoption Reconciliation. Sandy Musser surrendered her baby girl to adoption in 1954 when she was only 15 years old. She began a search for her in 1976 and located her a year later. The reunion with her found daughter only lasted a brief time because her daughter decided to end the relationship shortly after they met. Sandy was so devastated over another loss that she threw herself into the adoption reform movement. She became a Leader in the fight for adoption rights. Sandy served on several Boards such as the American Adoption Congress, Adoption Forum of Phila., International Soundex Reunion Registry, and Concerned United Birthparents (CUB). She also was sent to federal prison in 1993 for her work in reuniting families through her Adoption & Family Reunion Center. Sandy has been committed to adoption reform work for 37 years - half of her life - and is now working on a Federal Mandate to allow adopted persons the right to a copy of their Original Birth Certificates based upon the 13th & 14th Civil Rights Amendments which have been responsible for the passage of most civil rights laws in the past 100 years. Sandy believes that closed, sealed, secret adoptions should be outlawed and that they have no place in a free society. This archaic law does not only affect the adoptee, but it affects their children and their children's children by denying them the right to their genetic heritage, their culture, their medical history and the right to answer the WHO AM I question.
