From the book: Only recently have some nations begun to realize what treasures they have rotting on their beaches or gathering dust in attics. Some of these countries seem to have studiously ignored any efforts by private citizens to preserve these relics and memoribilia. After all, there are many problems to deal with when building a new nation. Even the more developed countries, however, have at best compiled lists of only their own museums.
