Val-Kill, near the Roosevelt Hyde Park home, was Eleanor Roosevelt's home after Franklin Roosevelt's death, the only home she ever personally owned. It was converted to the Eleanor Roosevelt National Historic Site in 1977. This book is by her granddaughter Eleanor Roosevelt Seagraves, who lived along with her her brother Curtis in the White House during FDR's presidency and who remained close to the First Lady through the Val-Kill years. The book is a spiral bound softcover with a red cover, with drawings by Eleanor Roosevelt Wotkyns, the First Lady's niece. The many photos in the book are from the Franklin D. Roosevelt Library. This copy is of the 3rd printing in 1991. It is in very good+ condition. It has no user marks within. Some of Eleanor Roosevelt's favorite recipes for entertaining at Val-Kill in the years after FDR include: Spinach Strata, Ham in Orange Sauce, Wild Rice Casserole, Crab-Stuffed Artichokes, Asparagus Saute, Dexter Johnston's Cheesy Cauliflower, Apple Custard Pie. Books.
