Text Sprache: Englisch , My Heart is in the Ozarks, by Jory Sherman, illustrated by Sherry Pettey. (An Ozark heritage book) , INTRODUCTION: The beauty of the Ozarks is incredible. Its seasons clothe her beauty, enhancing and deepening it in the eyes of the beholder. The region is a vast geographical area, with boundaries still disputed by some. The heart of the region is in Southern Missouri and Northern Arkansas, with fringes stretching up as far north as Illinois and into Kansas and Oklahoma. Other states claim sections of these hills and I do not dispute them. My own experiences here are in a relatively small portion: Northwest Arkansas, and Southwest Missouri. It would take a lifetime, perhaps several lifetimes, to go over every inch of even this small area. I am always amazed at how much there is to see and experience along just one of its innumerable roads. And, there always seems to be another hill, another valley, begging for recognition. The Ozarks country is a microcosm of constant changes and ferment. One is struck by the abundance of life here. Tucked into her recesses are farms, homesteads, whiskey stills, livestock, antiques, fish, game, and always, people, natives, newcomers and visitors here for a season or a shorter span of time. This is a book of impressions; my impressions gathered over the past four or five years. Not everyone who comes here or lives here will see or feel the same things I do, and the door is left wide open for each reader to add or subtract from each sketch according to his or her own sense and sensitivity, attune-ment and appreciation .... 15499A ISBN 0911559019 Versand D: 3,50 EUR Jory Sherman , My Heart is in the Ozarks , Sherman, Jory, Homes and haunts, Ozark Mountains, United States, Amerika, Angelegt am: 21.02.2017.
