t comes as no surprise to discover that Eric Thompson trained as an architect. He has spent much of his time since retirement searching out and recording old Australian buildings. These precise and evocative pencil drawings are the outcome, and very attractive they are too. Clarion Press hardback with intact DJ. The DJ is decidedly tatty with a defect of the upper front area and a vertical tear of about 3 cm of the flap hinge at the lower end on the front. The boards is red cloth are pristine and the binding is good with no marks. Gilt lettering to spine. Landscape orientation.

Illustrated dustwrapper, again by Eric Thompson, with brown background and white writing on front panel and spine. The dustwrapper is rubbed and faded and the corners slightly chipped. There is a 1.5" tear close to the top right-hand corner of front cover and there are numerous chips along the top dustwrapper edges. There is a .75" tear on bottom front dustwrapper edge, approximately middle of book, and again and a few small chips to the rest of the edge.the remains of price sticker is on the front fold over. A companion volume to the author's "Early Colonial Buildings of Australia", this time taking in Georgian and Victorian buildings. Size: Oblong 8vo - 7¾" - 9¾" tall but wider .
