It had been hoped to research the subject more fully before publication but as this was not possible, it has been decided to publish the notes in their present form in the hope that they will be of interest and may stimulate more detailed research of the subject. Contents: FitzRoy and Maury; Thomas Brisbane; Charles Todd; Ellery and Neumayer;Henry Chamberlain Russell; Clement Wragge; The international scene; The end of the beginning; Bibliography. Size: 8vo.
