I first read Pull of the Earth at least 20 years ago, reread more than once, and kept looking for another copy and more novels by Alfred Alcorn. He so well captures both the pull of the earth and the pull on one's heartstrings and emotions. I also recommend 'Vestments' by Alcorn, as well.
