Îl înso?im în acest regal liric cu bucuria de a fi avut "ansa rar" a reîntâlnirii unui poet de prim? m?rime. - "tefan Stoenescu Despre Dan D?nila am auzit mai întâi pe la sfâr?itul anilor 90 de la Mircea Iv?nescu - marele poet vorbea cu apreciere & c?ldur" despre acest poet optzecist care, spre deosebire de congenerii lui colocvializan?i pe model american, îl afec?iona pe oracularul & reflexivul Rilke, din care de altfel a ?i tradus excelent. Apoi, înainte de a-l întâlni în carne ?i oase, am g?sit în redac?ia Transilvaniei un cap al lui Bacovia sculptat de Dan D?nil? - remarcabil în expresia lui trist? ?i cumva surprinz?tor rilkean?. Aveam s? constat, peste al?i câ?iva ani, c? acest cap sem?na deopotriv? cu Bacovia ?i cu Dan D?nil? însu?i; iar poezia artistului român avea s? mi se par? o bizar?, personal? contragere a hieratismului oracular al lui Rilke în substan?a melancoliei primului Bacovia. Nu substan?ial diferite mi se par aceste poeme din Ispita labirintului ; a?a anacronice cum pot p?rea în reflexivitatea ?i metaforismul lor târziu-moderniste, m? atrag totu?i prin curajul lor de a fi altfel decât stipuleaz? vulgata optzecist?. Dan D?nil? e un poet cultivat, ?i "tie foarte bine ce riscuri î?i asum" prin erezia aceasta rilkean?; ?i nu doar rilkean?, ci ?i cumva borgesian? în culturalismul ei galopant. Poetul însu?i se vede, în fapt, astfel, într-o imagine foarte frumoas?: «Precum un Borges purtând sub pleoape / toate bibliotecile lumii - ce atlet, dac? / numai pe cearc?nele lui poate duce atâta, / dar bra?ele, dar mu?chiul mai obstinat / al inimii, înc?rcat de runele sângelui?». Într-un fel, gesticula?ia aceasta cultural? a lui Dan D?nil? aminte?te de aceea a lui Ion Pillat - bran?at la tot ce însemna revolu?ie poetic? european? în interbelic, acela alegea con?tient o formul? neoclasic? care, n?scut? gata b?trân?, s-a dovedit totu?i mai rezistent? decât multe ale contemporanilor s?i. Tot astfel, textele lui Dan D?nil? sunt n?scute cumva vechi; dar ele se vor învechi mai greu decât multe alte nout??i ale vremilor noastre. - Radu Vancu.
