Capitalism and Classical Liberalism have been blamed for all major social and economic crisis such as the present one which started in 2009. Corruption and incoherence as well as the erosion of freedoms are all just a sympton of a social and political malaise which must be tackled head on. Although Liberalism is not perfect compared to other major ideologies on the Left or the Centre -Right, it offers the best basis for freedom, liberty and an economically succesful economy as has been witnessed in Japan ( ruled by the Japanese Liberal Party almost uninterrupted since 1945 ) and Canada ruled by the Liberal Party for almost all the 20th century. This book does not delve deeply into philosophical alternatives to Liberalism as I want it to be practical. What I analyse in a very succint way are the main alternatives which could add some Liberal ideas to their policies such as Christian Democracy or Conservatism. I also deal briefly with the New Left and its totalitarian alternative as well as Communism/Marxism which are rejected as they are basically class -based and an aberration taking into account their past dictatorial tendencies as happens with fascism and Nazism. At the end I propose major political reforms applicable to any Western country as well as 100 practical, detailed policies including fighting poverty, access to housing both for rent or for first property or reforms in criminal policy or divorce. I am sure the reader will be fascinated by this NEW, advanced Liberalism.
