The aim of the Faculty in the selection of Text Books in the several Departments, has been to adopt the most approved; but, while the student is required to obtain a thorough knowledge of their contents, it is by no means intended that the course of daily instruction shall be limited to Text Book examinations - it also includes recent facts and illus trations deduced from the improvements of the age, and the extensions of Science, as far as these can be rendered available.
