Montgomery Bonbon: Death at the Lighthouse (Book 2) (eBook, PDF)

Montgomery Bonbon: Death at the Lighthouse crafts a brisk, title-page intrigue in which a holiday hiatus unravels into a caper of clever misdirections. The jaunty narrator, Bonnie Montgomery, juggles her detective alter-ego with a family-fueled seaside idyll that rapidly reveals its own simmering tensions. On Odde Island, the lure of leisure dissolves into a puzzling death at Leerie Lighthouse, inviting a chorus of suspicious behavior and sharp, humorous scrutiny. Beckett-King’s wit ricochets between miscommunication and deduction, turning a coastal town into a stage for misfit suspects and sly clues. The illustrations amplify the brisk pace, offering visual wink-and-nudge moments that complement the textual misdirection. The plot threads—grasped clues, red herrings, and bonbons of clever dialogue—converge in a satisfying, lighthearted deduction. Bonnie’s dual life remains the book’s playful engine, propelling both suspense and affectionate satire of detective tropes. In sum, the book sustains a buoyant tempo while delivering a neatly resolved mystery threaded with charm and comic ingenuity.^*
