The author: Thai Thi Minh, born in 1973, graduated in Agronomy at Hanoi University of Agriculture in Vietnam in 1995. In 2004 she participated in a post-graduate training programme at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Thailand, gaining an MSc degree in Agricultural Systems in 2005. Between 1995 and 2007 she was involved in various international agricultural research and development programmes in Vietnam, Lao and Thailand. In 2007 she joined the Department of Agricultural Communication and Extension at the University of Hohenheim to collaborate in a research project on Sustainable Land Use and Rural Development in Mountainous Regions of Southeast Asia.
