Imperial College Press, London, 2000. First Edition. Laminated Boards. Near Fine/N/A. white titles spine; "the aim of this book is to cover all aspects of involvement of the eye in HIV infection although HIV patients can also develop eye problems which are not associated with HIV infection. These people are looked after by various types of attendants, and it is therefore very likely that eye problems may first present to the non-ophthalmologist before referral to the ophthalmologist. To address this, the first three chapters in this book are overview chapters: the first updates the reader on current management issues in HIV in these changing times while the second and third provide an overview of the different types of eye problems that can occur in both the pre-AIDS and AIDS phase of HIV infection. Chapters four, five, six and seven cover different types of ocular involvement in detail, and are particularly written for the ophthalmologist. Chapter eight details surgical procedures which are carried out by ophthalmologists and the safety issues which arise from intervention. Lastly, chapter nine discusses tbc ocular problems in developing countries, where the greatest number of HIVinfected patients live and where the patterns of ocular disease may be different. Some disease entities appear in several chapters and this has been done in order to ensure that each chapter is relatively self-contained and the reader does not have to browse through other chapters in order to cover the topic. In addition, the chapters are cross-referenced to guide the reader to another chapter where the same topic is also covered, usually in more detail. The text is illustrated with colour pictures with appropriate radiolology to complete the topic." ; including index - 270 pages. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Quantity Available: 1.
